It's the Rational Expectation

Is the age of diminished expectations about to begin?

    Grandma's Economic Index

Grandma spends enough on Christmas to be her own economic indicator. According to the "How many gifts are under Grandma's Christmas tree Economic Index," this will be a strong though not great year for retailers.

      Technically Speaking...

      Nothing but tech troubles lately.

A Bloomberg TV interview fell through due to satellite connection problems, I got up early to do a radio interview only to learn that their phone call-in equipment was "fried," I never had any trouble with Windows Vista, but upgraded to Windows 7 anyway and the result is that I haven't seen so many blue screens in years - what a mistake that was, the video camera I use to tape my classes for YouTube misbehaved just as class was starting, Java and Firefox haven't been getting along lately, and a bunch of other stuff you don't care about any more than you care about the ones I've already described. Just frustrated -- lost a long post due to a Windows 7 problem a bit ago (yeah, I know, back things up...) -- and thought whining about it might help.
