Hear No Evil

Dear Angry Modern Macroeconomists:

The fact that the reputation of macroeconomics is in shreds is not the fault of Paul Krugman's NY Times article. The sooner you quit blaming the messenger, take your hands off your ears and hear the important message being delivered, and then get to work fixing the problems, the better.

      Strategic Forgetfulness

So I did it again. For the second time this year, I forgot to make my house payment. I was sure I'd made the payment but I can't find a record of it anywhere, so I guess not. I finally figured it out when the mortgage company started leaving messages on my work phone. My home phone doesn't work for some reason, and hasn't for several months, but I never use it anyway so I haven't gotten around to having it fixed. Guess I should, I assume they tried that first. But it doesn't even ring anymore, and I kind of like it that way.

The good part is that since I've been over a month late with two payments this year, I'm getting all sorts of offers for workout plans if I'm having trouble. If they make the right offer, may as well take it. After all, I paid for the option with late fees. Maybe I should try threatening to walk away next.

        Round Numbers are Special

I owe everyone a thank you -- crossed the 10 million mark for visitors to Economist's View earlier today. That's so many orders of magnitude more than I ever expected when I started.
