James Hoffa Takes the Bait

Teamsters President James Hoffa makes a political calculation and decides to switch sides:

Reform prod by Hoffa, By Donald Lambro, Washington Times: Breaking with the Democrats and AFL-CIO on Social Security, Teamsters President James Hoffa Jr. sent a message to the White House … that he wants to help them find a bipartisan solution to the programs long-term insolvency. Mr. Hoffa not only generously praised George W. Bush … he faulted Democrats for refusing to come to the table until the president drops his personal retirement accounts plan. … Republicans will be in charge … for the next four years, and Mr. Hoffa now thinks he can work with the GOP …

Bad move.
