Spontaneous Vacation 2007

I haven't been on a vacation for several years. I can never decide where to go, so I end up not going anywhere.

So today (Saturday 8/11) I loaded up the car and started driving. We'll see where it takes me.

Good for you! That sounds like a darn fine way to have a vacation. I must admit, I'm a bit envious. Right now, for me it's either work and pay my bills or have a permanent vacation living out of a van. Right now, I think the golden retrievers are happier in a house, with me working.

I will look forward to hearing about your peregrinations.

This year is no vacation for me either, so a vicarious one is better than none. Well done on setting off - let's hear and see more!

I echo Noni, good for you! Every American should fill the tank up with gas and just go somewhere, it is our pilgrimage; let those from other cultures travel to their holy place, our ancestors worshiped at the alter of the unknown destination and to thence we return.

Now you get to re(read) John Steinbeck's "Travels with Charlie" and laugh in recognition. Oh, good on you Mark, good on you.

Forget the blog, enjoy the vacation!

Pretty good photography considering the equipment.

That's a great vacation. We did a part of it (Yellowstone/Grand Teton/Arches/Canyonlands) over 8 days a couple of months ago, and it was fabulous. Weather is nearly perfect in early June, as well.
